For the past couple of years, Orchard Skateshop and the Orchard team out of Boston have been at it again, working on their newest video Stone Soup.
But who cares about a shop video nowadays?
You’ve got people filming in the streets with $25,000 RED cameras with people jumping down 44 stair handrails. But how and what you film is not the important part: Skate videos are how the skateboarding populace communicates with each other. They are a representation of your scene and your vibe. Whatever you contribute to skateboarding’s plethora of media can be meaningful.
Stone Soup isn’t just made up of Orchard’s team riders, it’s people from all around the state, country, and globe who have contributed to this project. One person with a camera is capable of making a video, but it takes the whole community to make it a video worth watching. The skaters, the spots, even the people you encounter when you’re out skating all contribute in a way that makes the moment you’ve captured a unique part of skate history.
From everyone at Orchard Skateshop, thank you for skateboarding, and we hope you enjoy Stone Soup.
