Are you ready for some good pod? Well hopefully this does it for ya. Tim sent over a long convo he had with famed filmer Bill Strobeck where the two fast-talkers rap about Love Park, drinking so much you lose your job, and much more than can be condensed into this pointless little sentence. Just press play and get psyched for part 2 to drop next Monday which includes questions from readers and Jason Dill.
Don’t forget to check out the show highlights and the links and mentions from this week’s episode. And, as always, send shit for Tim to talk about next time here: satanandgodarebothdorks@gmail.com.

what was surfing video that copied cherry

Most likely Kai Neville’s Cluster, unless it Bill’s referring to a shorter clip or web clip. It’s no secret that the guys over at What Youth are huge fans of the raw skate aesthetic (NYC/Supreme/Johnny Wilson clips/even a teaser post for a Canadian shop vid), and Kai + most of the surfers in Cluster are a major part of that camp.
Trailer – https://vimeo.com/116989835
Cluster itself features Bill’s signature 1 or 2 lifestyle shots framed within a full screen shot, as well audio similarties (the trailer song is a modest intimidation of the Gang Gang Dance track in Cherry). There’s a whole bunch of lines you can draw and honestly it would be a damn good piece to write about because a very subtle shift is happening and the new gen of surfing is watching Supreme/Palace/Bronze and saying fuck yeah – that’s the culture we want.

@Lookbothways92 You broke it down, homie. Good work.

Not saying you’re totally wrong but just for the record Kai Neville’s first big video Modern Collective, came out long before Cherry/Palace/Bronze and also before What Youth even existed. In that video you can see some of the stylistic elements that are now more popular.
