Skateboard media moves pretty fast these days, and I think it’s good to occasionally remind ourselves that just because something came out today or went viral on Facebook 4 minutes ago, doesn’t necessarily make it better or more valuable than skateboarding from years ago. It’s even easy to neglect the timeless and progressive skateboarding of our most beloved skaters just because they aren’t in the vortex of daily content.
With that in mind, our friend Joey Sinko felt compelled to edit Brian Sumner’s most memorable video moments and drench them in 90s and 00s nostalgia. If you didn’t know much about Brian Sumner (besides that shoe) or wanted to remember him during his Baker Bootleg heyday before becoming a Christian pastor, check this one out.

Dude is a serious kook. I met him in Las Vegas when they were on a birdhouse tour and I grew up with one of the guys that was on the team at that point. Sumner was talking shit about tons of pros saying he deserved to be in tony Hawks pro skater and Andrew Reynolds was a fag who made him look like he was into satan. This dude needs mental help.

Lol, yeah, that’s definitely what I said. Why would I say anyone made me look like I was into Satan, as I never looked that way anyway. Andrews not a fag and Tony Hawks pro skater? Don’t take skating too seriously man, you’ll make posts like this too often. You keyboard warriors and your words. Get out some time, this way. Say hi to zack!

I saw him speak at my high school as a kid one time and he is obviously the opposite of what you just said about him. He is an incredible guy.

I heard he beat some little kid with an extension cord over $2, like beat him bad, and then him and his pro skater friends stood around flicking cigarette butts at the kid while making him do that Curly from the 3 Stooges “whoop whoop whoop spinning on the floor” thing for an indeterminate amount of time, or I guess until Brian thought the debt was absolved.

There was a rumor going around that he stabbed his grandma with a small Philips screwdriver because she didn’t want to give up her social security check so that he could go buy beer for himself and his friends, but I’m not sure if it’s true. But then I heard that same person mentioning that Reynolds was a fag and that he could easily beat Reynolds in a backyard wrestling steel cage special guest referee match so I know that rumor is true.
