We know it’s International Women’s Day today, and you may have already seen this on another site, but we wanted to share this vid from Memory Screen anyway because it’s that good.
It covers some of the history and pioneers that have been a part of women’s skateboarding since its birth, from OGs who could still hold their own today like Elissa Steamer and Marisa Dal Santo, to today’s figures still in the limelight like Lizzie Armanto and Lacey Baker. Before the whole crossover model / skate world became the norm in 2019, there were these women, and they all ripped.
Backed by Janis Joplin belting “Piece of My Heart” (just like Elissa’s Jump Off A Building part), the video is a montage to get you amped, which is the perfect sentiment for the day.
But whatever you do to celebrate today, just don’t buy a Leticia board because that Plan B shit is strictly for steroid users.
