We took a little break from doing the mixes for the last couple of months, but when Eli Reed sent over this mix of upbeat Dancehall and reggae songs, we felt it was too good to just let sit on our hard drives.
Eli has been on a dancehall kick for some time now, so before it’s no longer warm enough to dance outside (and everyones complaining about winter) we figured to blast this one out.
For those curious how Eli got started down this whole rabbit hole, here’s what he said:
“In the ’90s my big brother was a white Rasta guy with dreads, and he put me onto all the great reggae artists. He was taking me to dancehall parties since I was 16. I wasn’t up on the new dancehall in the earlier 2000s, but when I moved to Brooklyn eight years ago, I got back into the vibes. Every day that goes by, I get more into the culture. I just know when I hear this music it makes my blood flow faster and it inspires me to move and dance and skate.”
