Maybe you’ve been wondering what’s happening with 5Boro since their last full-length, 5BNY, dropped a few years ago. Hey, we live in the same city as these guys and weren’t totally sure ourselves, so we stopped by their HQ for a little update which you can check out here.
Mark Nardelli, who’s been running 5Boro for a while now, sent us their new video, Apt. 5B, featuring their newest family of riders and nicknamed after the apartment where he lives and handles every aspect of the business. Enjoy!

For those wanting more in depth news, we talked with Mark to get a full update on the brand, which has seen some team changes, and to find out what to look out for in the future. For one of the most prolific New York brands (they’ve been around since 1996) we’re glad to hear they still operate like a family.
While 5Boro’s history centers around New York and bringing up east coast heroes like Luis Tolentino and Brandon Westgate, they also showed off would be Euro stars like Kevin Rodrigues and Vincent Touzery before they were big. And longstanding riders like Jimmy McDonald and Danny Falla continue to stay true to the brand today.
Besides, 5Boro has been known to hook up rappers like Ghostface Killah, support Rob Gonyon’s quest to skate in Timbs, and send us sick photos like this, so we gotta love them for that.
The first news bit is that Jordan Trahan is officially bowing out from 5Boro. After 10 years it felt right for him to move on, so this will be his last video with 5Boro.
Secondly, three guys in the video—Jeremy Murray, Shinya Nohara, and Neil Herrick—turned pro last year. All of them have histories with the brand, from working in sales and international distribution, to just having skated with them for a while, so it’s nice to see 5Boro put them on fully. Also Shinya, a.k.a. Pori, has been known to skate wavy handrails, which is always entertaining.
Lastly, although he doesn’t have clips in the video, Shredmaster Keith is fully back on 5Boro. If you didn’t know, Shred used to ride for them when he was young—like 14-15 years old—and would even sleep on Mark’s couch before skating an ice-covered LES skatepark in the morning.
OK, that’s it for the textual spam. The only other nugget worth mentioning is that while Mark’s apartment number isn’t technically 5B, Kramer from Seinfeld did live in apartment 5B. We’re not saying Kramer used to ride for 5Boro, but we’re not saying he didn’t.

Always been really stoked on their output. Maybe I’ve not been paying enough attention, but it seems like they’ve been a bit quiet lately. And I thought it was Steve Rodriguez behind the company? Anyway, I hope they’re doing well, and continue to do so.
