Sadly, the time has come for us to wrap up Ali Boulala Week. Not gonna lie, it was refreshing being a fan site instead of a skate mag. Rather than writing about some trend or interviewing a filmer, we got to dive inside the mind of one of skateboarding’s most eccentric figures. We got to listen to his new band in the studio, watch him play with an RC Car and rehearse Shook Ones Pt. 2 on piano.
Taking into account his passion for music, for the final feature of Ali Week, we asked him to curate the latest Jenkem Mix for us to share with you all. Although most of the tracks sound like they were written by the oldest guy in the darkest corner of the dreariest bar, it was a treat to get a feel for what Ali is listening to when he’s trying to get inspired to play and write his own music.
With all that being said, we hope you enjoyed Ali Boulala Week as much as we did!

Verso asks that we pay it a kind of attention many of us automatically do not. Knowing this, we choose to either look more closely or let it pass before our eyes the way the rest of skating does.
