We first learned about Abe Bethel when we heard The Nine Club hosts, Ronnie Creager, and Jamie Owens all praising his curb skills in old episodes of the show. Jamie Owens even went as far as calling Abe “the greatest curb skater of all time,” which immediately had us looking into the validity of his claim.
Abe had a part in last year’s curb heavy ((THEVIDEO)), which is a master showing of what is possible when you have a rub brick, a shit ton of wax, and a little determination. While the median age of the video might be 40, it has an aura of youthfulness and has a heavy cast featuring everyone from Tony Hawk to Andy Anderson. Abe sticks out with his speed, effortless cool, and video game-level trick combinations, and definitely convinced us that he’s worthy of the title.
Abe has since moved to Miami, opened Greater Skate Shop, and received even more praise as more people become aware of his curb dancing abilities. To get a full taste of his skating, we took a quick trip to Miami to see how he is settling in and talked to a few curb-loving pros about his influence.
