The title of this video by filmmaker Kyota Kamei is Konton, which very roughly translated means “chaos,” but it should probably be called “Sugoku Sutairisshum,” which very roughly translated means “fucking stylish,” which seems a bit more fitting.
Though Konton does have a couple of bangers (particularly from HUF wonderboy Daiki Hoshino), it’s more a showcase of calculated speed, flow, style, and consistency we’ve come to love from Japanese skating. From Shin Sanbongi’s effortless fluidity, to Kelly Ishihara’s precision and tech, to Yuma Takei’s joyful force, the vid is totemo kakkoi shi sutairisshu.
