Everyone has their dream trick, and for the last couple of years, our friend Jake Keenan’s has been the elusive 540. He’s had it on his New Year’s resolutions list for the past two years, so when Vans hit us up to tell us Zion Wright would be in town to promote his new shoe, we knew this was Jake’s chance get some cheat codes from a master.
Unfortunately, Zion is currently injured, which means all Jake could do was try to listen to Zion’s advice without any real visual demonstration. It added a bit of a challenge, but Jake was a good sport and gave it everything he had until his body started to really cramp up. Shout out again to Zion for being a patient teacher and to Jake for being the perfect ragdoll/test dummy. Maybe it would have gone better if he was naked?

True, but a 540 on transition also starts and ends in the same stance. Just sayin’.
