Sage Elsesser is the poster boy for the next generation of skaters who are unafraid to tear down your expectations of what clothes and music they should like. For this mix, we asked the 18-year-old Fucking Awesome rider to pick out some of his favorite tracks. Despite requesting an unreleased Odd Future track (“that’s the point,” Elsesser told us), the mix is a refreshing blend of music that bounces between blues, reggae, lo-fi and hip-hop with ease.

“unafraid to tear down your expectations of what clothes and music they should like”
why would someone be afraid?
how about we just stop making those judgements anyway?
Seems pretty shallow…

I agree to some extent.
Really dumb quote for sure (Vaguely zoolander-ish, intentional?)
If he didnt fear expectations of clothes and music he wouldn’t wear expensive trendy clothing from supreme or listen to trendy and/or commonplace bands.
He should put on some 725 orignals, an ill-fitting satin shirt and some d3-like shoes and ride handboards we’ll listening to a faucet drip and people rubbing their wet shoes into mat.

NO, no. You do fear it. Thats why you’re not tearing the expectation of the expectations of people that tear down expectation.
You don’t need to wear a certain fit and do a certain thing to be a person that isn’t with expectations; you set an expectation.
People who tear down expectations are the ones who do simply what they like and wear what they want to wear, which is what Sage is doing.

Yeah if there was a Britney Spears track or Bob Marley or heavy dubstep from 2008, or just really any music that a cool person might think would be uncool… THEN my expectations would be torn down.

Thank you for this, I had never heard
Bill Evans before. That track is beautiful.
The sound of the open air, and whole
atmosphere of it.
It’s altered the course of my day.
